1. What Next Step Guyana is
Next Step Guyana provides educational guidance for Guyanese secondary students: pathway information, opportunities, sessions, mentor stories, and related tools. It is a guidance product, not a school, university, scholarship fund, or government office.
2. No substitute for official advice
Programme dates, fees, entry requirements, scholarship rules, and school policies can change. Confirm important details with the organiser, school, exam body, or institution before you decide. Mentors and contributors share experience; they do not replace professional, legal, or medical advice.
3. Accounts and eligibility
- Provide accurate information if you create an account.
- Keep your login details private.
- Parents, guardians, or school staff may help students under 18 use the service.
- Mentor and admin accounts are for authorised staff only.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or exploit other users.
- Post illegal content, sexual content involving minors, or hate content.
- Share another person’s private contact details without permission.
- Attempt to break into accounts, scrape the service abusively, or disrupt the site.
- Present AI-generated or fabricated credentials, awards, or school results as fact.
We may remove content or suspend access when these rules are broken.
5. User content
If you post questions, stories, or replies, you keep ownership of your content. You give Next Step Guyana permission to host, display, and moderate that content so the service can operate. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.
6. Sessions and opportunities
Listing a session or opportunity does not guarantee a seat, award, job, or admission. Organisers control final selection. Attendance rules, meet links, and deadlines come from the session host or opportunity owner.
7. Prototype and accuracy
Parts of the site may still be in prototype form. Some seed examples are labelled as illustrative until verified Guyana-specific sources are locked for launch. We work to keep information accurate, but we do not warrant that every detail is complete or current.
8. Intellectual property
The Next Step Guyana name, logo, and site design are owned by the project operators. You may not copy the brand for another product without written permission.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy, or fitness for a particular academic outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Next Step Guyana and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, including decisions about subjects, applications, or careers made after reading guidance here.
11. Privacy
Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The updated page and date will be posted on the site. Continued use after a material update means you accept the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Guyana. Courts in Guyana have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms, except where applicable consumer protections say otherwise.
